The National Smile Month run by the British Dental Council is the UK’s largest oral health campaign.
The campaign is focused around 3 key messages.
Brush your teeth for two minutes twice a day using fluoride toothpaste.
Cut down on how often you have sugary food and drinks.
Visit the dentist regularly, as often as they recommend.
Despite the many improvements in oral health over the last 30 years, inequalities continue to burden certain groups in the UK. In 5 year old children living in Yorkshire and Humber the average number of teeth with decay is 1.23 compared with the average of England of 0.94.
