Not long now until the schools break for the summer. Hopefully, your thoughts are turning to holidays.
So, what can you do to prepare as afar as your oral health is concerned?
If you are having an odd niggle from your mouth or you know your dental health check is due try and get into the practice before you go away. You don’t want to spend valuable holiday time at the local dentist! Don’t worry if you have left it late just give us a call and we’ll see what we can do.
Are you due a hygiene visit? You don’t want stained teeth in your holiday pictures so get booked in before you go.
If you are a Denplan patient you have cover for holiday emergency treatment worldwide. Ideally take Denplan’s telephone number with you and your registration number. If not, you can find Denplan on-line and they can find you from your date of birth etc. So, if you have a problem whilst away ring Denplan for advice and they will advise you the best way to proceed. https://www.denplan.co.uk/patients/dental-emergency-support
What should I pack? Personally, I would say yes take your electric toothbrush if you usually use one as you will soon notice the difference if you switch back to a manual brush. Plus, bacteria don’t have holidays! If you usually use Tepe brushes don’t leave them at home as all your good work can quickly be reversed. You can leave behind the bulky mouth wash, as this is not essential. We often have small sample tubes of toothpaste in the practice so do ask if you’re going away.
Unfortunately accidents do happen and if you or a child knock out a tooth or break a tooth, follow the advice in our blog www.lindleydental.co.uk/dental-trauma-2 and get to see a local dentist as soon as possible.
Remember we are available for advice too via our Facebook page so considering posting a message there too.
